What is NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) ?
Research shows that 7% of the meaning
of our communication is through words.
The rest of the communication process takes
place through body language, tone of voice and the various signals that words cannot
convey -
NLP
allows us to change, fine tune or eliminate patterns of behaviour which stand in
our way and sabotage our ability and need to move forward.
By learning new skills of communication (internally and externally) we can adjust
our mental, emotional and physical states of well-
Although a behaviour may appear to be bad, hurtful or
thoughtless it is important to look at the context in which that behaviour appears
together with the underlying reason for it before we can allow ourselves to realise
that every behaviour has a positive purpose. Perhaps that person who hurt our feelings had
no other resources available to them to help them deal with the situation and they
are simply acting as best they know how to. In using NLP we can learn how to remove
underlying negative emotional, habits and addictions which can in turn result in
our realising new alternatives and choices.
Everyone has the potential to produce
excellent outcomes but if they cannot at times then it is likely to be due to inappropriate
beliefs, inadequate mental strategy or ineffective behavioural patterns. We all
have the abundant inner resources necessary to alter any beliefs and in looking within
and discovering them we can use them to produce any outcome we desire. In addition
we can look at the mental strategy and behavioural patterns of successful people
and duplicate and install this in ourselves, thereby producing excellent results.
For example, if what you are doing is not working, then do something else !
'If you
always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got'
so if you are attempting to get a result and whatever you are doing is not working
then perhaps it is necessary to take a look at it, observe any feedback and try something
new to produce the required result.
